Martin Family Foundation Scholarships

The Martin Family Foundation was formed with the vision of its founder, Benn Martin. His goal was to fund scholarships for students currently attending Washington State community colleges who desired to complete their baccalaureate degree at the University of Washington Seattle campus. Benn Martin was particularly interested in assisting students who have had a positive impact in their community.

Over the years, the Martin Family Foundation formed an alliance with the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards at the University of Washington, both to help identify students who are focused on improving their lives and community, and to administer the active scholarships.

Today, the University of Washington and the Martin Family Foundation support two scholarships for community college students:

Martin Achievement Scholarship Program

For Washington community college students with another year of study to do at their community college before transferring to UW. Application opens February.

Martin Honors Scholarship Program

For Washington community college transfer students as they are in the process of transferring to UW, or who are already at UW but with few UW credits taken. Application opens May.
