Summer experiences

Students involved in summer experiences work on research, academic, or leadership projects mentored by faculty, staff, and other senior researchers. These are often short (8-10 week) programs, and are designed to engage undergrads in research, build their confidence and skills, create a community, and show them the various educational and career pathways.

The list of scholarship opportunities below includes both specific summer programs and scholarships that are flexible to being used toward these types of summer experiences.

UW Summer Institute in the Arts & Humanities (SIAH)

Offers an opportunity for undergraduates to engage in scholarly research with accomplished scholars and peers while earning full-time academic credit and a scholarship.

Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship

For U.S. citizen students interested in going to Canada to undertake advanced research projects for 10 to 12 weeks (between May and August) in their area of interest.

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship

Scholarship to support a 2-3 month research stay in Switzerland.

Public Policy & International Affairs Junior Summer Institute
