Lidia Workneh
I am a rising senior studying Computer Science & Software Engineering with minors in Data Science and Data Analytics. I have always believed in making the most of the opportunities around me, so throughout college, I have been involved in programs such as Global Scholars and Digital Scholars, participated in and helped plan hackathons and large-scale events, served as a Study Abroad Ambassador, and held leadership roles in organizations including the Association for Computing Machinery for Women (ACM-W) and the Black Student Union (BSU). Through these experiences, I have developed a strong passion for giving back to my community and promoting accessibility while helping create supportive spaces for students to grow and pursue their goals. Currently, I am focusing on my on-campus role in Career Services while also conducting research in AI and cybersecurity.
Goals
My near-term goal is to secure a role in machine learning or fintech, where I can apply my skills to problems in areas I am passionate about. In the longer term, I hope to explore research and innovation, potentially working on developing new technologies and solutions to complex problems.
